Introduction
TELETOON is a Canadian cable television channel that specializes in animation programming. teletoon.com is created to provide kids a destination where they can find out show related information and engage in various online activities.
Challenge
TELETOON is going through a rebranding phase where it is changing from being wild and crazy to a smarter image. The role that teletoon.com plays need to grow in order to meet the marketing needs of the TELETOON brand. The website also needs to provide interesting interactive content for kids in order to grow loyalty towards the TELETOON channel.
Solution
Jacqueline has been a developer for teletoon.com for four years. She is involved in brainstorming ideas for interactive projects as well as doing the development work in order to make ideas a reality. She is also responsible for creating microsites with interactive content in order to support initiatives from various departments. Some of the projects that she has participated at TELETOON includes the following:

teletoon.com Rebrand Project - The entire TELETOON website was rebranded in 2006 to reflect the new brand image. The main pages of the website were redeveloped so that the all the information are presented in a more organized way.

Sales and Promotions Microsites - Jacqueline has participated in brain storming sessions to come up with ideas for various sales and promotions microsites. She then program these microsites according to client's requirements. These microsites usually consist of a contest with attractive prizing and they might also include other interactive content. For the Coraline promotion, a secret door is revealed during specific time of the day. Visitors can travel to the secret world to download different movie related wallpapers and icons only when the door is revealed.

Network Promotions Microsites - Jacqueline has created numerious promotional microsites for various network initiatives. A recent one includes a Jedi Mission activity where visitors can come to teletoon.com and search for Star Wars characters that are hidden throughout the website. Jacqueline has also created sites to promote the annual TELETOON Tour. The most recent iteration consists of a UGC component where users can submit their own video and a gallery is created to allow visitors to browse through people's submissions. Some promotion sites are integrated with Facebook and/or Twitter and create more buzz regarding the special promotion.

Games - Jacqueline has created a puzzle game called Picture Twister. It is a simple game that can be easily reskined for various shows or sales promotions. She is also involved in localization of games purchased from third parties.

VIP Newsletter - A weekly newsletter where subscribers get exclusive VIP content. Jacqueline is involved in integrating a third party emailing system to the TELETOON website. She also created the VIP Voice section where subscribers can send us what they think regarding a monthly topic. Contests are also held periodically for these special subscribers.

Surveys and Polls - These are created to capture visitor's opinion regarding specific topics. Some surveys are developed to help the programming department to determine the popularity of new shows.

Time tracker system - A tool is created in order to allow the TELETOON web team to track the number of hours that they have spent on various projects.

Usability Studies - Jacqueline has participated in uability studies that are conducted within elementary schools. These are valuable experiences where you can see how kids interact with various interactive content on the website.
